NAMI
Kentucky is holding its first Advocacy Day for NAMI Members at
the capitol on Wednesday,
February 13th.
Their priorities are:
1)
Increase
access to effective mental health care
2) Promote integration of mental
health, addictions, and primary care
3) End
the inappropriate jailing of people with mental illness.
4) Provide homes and jobs for people
living with mental illness.
Details to their priorities are outlined in their brochure. NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, the
nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building
better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness. NAMI
advocates for access to services, treatment, supports and research and is
steadfast in its commitment to raise awareness and build a community for hope
for all of those in need.
