Habitat for Humanity Build and ReStore -
November and December
As we
enter the season for haunted houses, Lexington Habitat for Humanity urges you
to set aside a little time to help the organization's partner families, many of
whom are enduring pretty scary living conditions until their homes are
completed. Moldy walls, leaky plumbing, faulty heating systems and insect
infestations are just a few of the problems Habitat families hope to escape
when they become homeowners.
Multiple builds are underway this fall, and help is especially needed on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in November and December.
To schedule to work at a build this fall, contact Volunteer Coordinator Risa Richardson at risar@lexhabitat.org.
Habitat also urgently needs volunteers to work four-hour shifts at their ReStore, located at 451 Southland Drive. Volunteers are especially needed to serve as greeters, cashiers, loaders and warehouse assistants on weekdays from 1:30-5:30 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., 1:30-4:30 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. For more information about volunteering at the ReStore, contact Catherine Trout at catherinet@lexhabitat.org
