The Institute on Philanthropy and Voluntary Service - Early Deadline December 9
The Institute
on Philanthropy and Voluntary Service will take place June 8 – August 1,
2014. IPVS
has been training undergraduate students to be leaders in their community
for 15 years through this fast-paced eight week academic internship program. IPVS
students will be equipped with the practical, philosophical, and ethical tools
needed for leadership in the nonprofit sector. If you are interested in being
nominated for this program, please contact Karen Anderson by December 2 to
arrange an interview. Nominated students receive priority consideration for
admission and scholarships. If you are
interested in the program you may apply
by the early deadline of December 9th
to receive a 5% tuition

Summer of Service Program Components
- Internships-
Competitive placements with local and
national nonprofit organizations
- Classes-
Up to 9 transferrable, accredited courses
in ethics and government from George Mason University
- Housing-
Roommate matching & furnished
apartments on George Washington University’s downtown campus
- Scholarships-
More than 70% of students receive
generous awards based on merit and financial need
- Leadership
& Professional Development- Mentoring and career building activities
including seminars, site briefings, and guest lectures
- Community Involvement- Hands on service projects, fundraising activities and visits to local nonprofit facilities
