Patient Concierge Volunteer:
Duties include: entering patient rooms, assisting the patient with
non-clinical requests, socialization and meal trays. Retrieving items for
patients such as tissues, linens, pillows, blankets, food and drink items,
assisting with completion of menus, etc. are some of the possible requests.
Patient Concierge Program
participants: Must be at least 16 years of age and may be required to walk
distances and be on their feet for most of the time.
All Volunteers must attend
general volunteer orientation and an additional training session specific to the
program.
Adequate conversational English
is required in order that the individual be able to take direction from
management, understand how to complete job tasks, communicate adequately with
clients and co-workers as necessary, understand and follow safety guidelines,
and understand the employee handbook and all hospital policies. An outgoing
personality, good customer skills and willing attitude are essential. Extensive
walking is required.
Gift Shop Volunteers:
Gift Shop
volunteers will assist clients, families and visitors with their purchases and
use a cash register to complete transactions. Additionally, they will assist
the Gift Shop Manager with inventory control, create price tickets, set up
displays, as well as rotate and restock merchandise. Gift Shop volunteers will
assist with orienting and training of new Gift Shop volunteers. They will help
maintain an orderly appearance of the Gift Shop. Gift Shop volunteers must be
at least 18 years of age. All volunteers must attend a general volunteer orientation
as well as a Gift Shop specific orientation & training. Requires the
ability to perform moderately difficult manipulative skills, ability to reach,
crouch, bend, and stand for prolonged periods. Adequate conversational English

Outpatient Clinic Assistants:
• Display a positive image of
Cardinal Hill by demonstrating courteous behavior toward clients, visitors,
other volunteers and employees.
Make reminder phone calls to
patients for their appointments
• Assist with the therapeutic
pool and Phase III Wellness Program
• Assist Secretary by answering
phones and doing other light clerical work
• Make copies as necessary.
• Answer telephone.
• Take and relay messages
• Filing records.
• Copying documents
