Storytime Bus - Ongoing
The Storytime Bus is the Lexington Public Library’s literacy initiative for
children aged 3-5 in area daycare programs. The Storytime Bus is a retro-fitted
R.V. that contains preplanned story kits, puppets, flannel/magnetic board, CD
player, etc. They visit area daycares on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday
mornings and the time frame is generally 8:15a.m. – 11:45a.m.
LPL will offer Storytime Bus volunteer training on Friday, March 21 from
10:00a.m.-4:00p.m. The training will be held at the Northside branch at
1733 Russell Cave Road. Current volunteers are men and women ranging in
age from their early 20s to 89 years of age. They all love it because it
is so emotionally rewarding and fun. No prior experience working with
children is necessary. Training is provide and all of the programs
are preplanned.
