WinterBlitz 2014

Volunteers are needed to help people in our community stay
warm and save money on their heating bills this winter!
Winterblitz is a collaboration between the Community Action
Council and Kentucky Utilities in the Lexington-Fayette County area that, with
the help of volunteers, aids people in the community by preparing homes for
winter: installing plastic on windows, caulking, and installing low-flow shower
heads for water conservation.
Volunteer teams are asked to arrive at 8 a.m. on November 15th
at 913 Georgetown Street for breakfast provided by Kentucky Utilities, training
and to begin work on assigned houses. Materials will be provided by Kentucky
Utilities and Water Conservation Kits will be provided by Kentucky American
Water.
This is a wonderful opportunity for the students, faculty and
staff of Transylvania University to foster a spirit of community involvement!
