Peer Volunteers Needed For NAMI Warm Line - ongoing

Peer Volunteers Needed For NAMI Warm Line

The NAMI Warm Line is a non-emergency phone line for people living with a mental illness, currently looking for volunteers. Individuals can call the Warm Line if need someone to talk to, or going through a stressful time, feeling cut-off from the world and isolated. The Warm Line is seeking caring individuals to help with the Line. Volunteers should possess or be willing to develop strong communication skills, possess the ability to work independently, as well as in a group, and have an  interest in working with adults of diverse backgrounds with mental health issues. Mandatory telephone training and QPR Gatekeeper Suicide Prevention Training are required. Priority will be given to those living with mental illness, but all interested parties should give it a try!

Contact Susan, Susan@namilex.org , if you're interested in becoming a trained Warm Line volunteer. To apply, visit their website.
