Transy students: do you have a younger sibling interested in public health and wellness? Suggest this to them!

The Louisville Metro Department of Public Health and Wellness Center for Health Equity is excited to announce the return of the Healing Futures Fellowship Program for Summer 2013. We are accepting applications now through May, 26, 2013.

This 6-week fellowship program is open to young people ages 15-18, and who will be entering the 10th, 11th, and 12th grades in Fall 2013. The six-week program will begin July 1, 2013 and end August 9, 2013. Enrolled participants must attend ALL sessions and will receive a stipend of up to $1,000.

The six-week summer program brings together youth from all areas of Louisville to work together as they explore differing views of race, class, culture, gender and equity as lenses from understanding and identifying solutions to prevention of injury and violence as a public health issue. The program is based out of the Center for Health Equity, located at 2422 West Chestnut Street, but with rotating class locations and field trips throughout the city.
